Now, the place to go for gardening, local produce and peaches, and Virginia wines! Lee Highway Nursery, at 7159 Burke Lane, Warrenton, is still that wonderful full-service nursery with knowledgeable employees where one
can buy colorful annuals and perennials and hanging baskets with cascading blooms, ask one of the staff experts about planting a shrub or tree, or discuss the perfect landscape design for that new house, but now it is even more! And, it is open seven days a week.
“The Garden Center has fresh, local produce,
including grass-fed beef from right here in Fauquier County,” They have all kinds of seasonal vegetables and freshly picked fruits. Peaches, plums and donut peaches from a nearby orchard are there now. The honey on sale is from area beehives. Good for that allergy. Another change for the nursery is the Thursday night wine tastings they host. The tastings are free and include wines from area wineries. Beckie said that there are many wineries in Fauquier and the surrounding counties. So, tasters and customers have a wide variety of Virginia wines from which to choose. Make sure to visit the nursery not only for all your gardening and landscaping needs but to purchase some luscious, right-off-the-vine tomatoes and check the times for a wine tasting!
